The face of the mat is 100% polyester, ensuring it’s tough enough for all-weather use. The fabric, meanwhile, is a laminated waterproof polyurethane membrane, strengthened with additional supporting layers. And to ensure its resilience while amid the elements, the material has been given an additional CO DWR treatment – a vegetable-based technology - for a complete waterproof seal. Prayer Mat features To ensure prayer is not disturbed, the mat has been fitted with pockets at each corner which can be filled with weights or nearby stones to ensure it remains flat should the wind pick up. It can also be rolled into a compact size, perfect for popping into a bag or rucksack while out exploring. Meanwhile, the lightweight polyester material ensures the mat can be taken along on long hikes without being a hindrance, so you can follow the adventure wherever it takes you. Prayer Mat design The Prayer Mats’ modern, stylised graphics depict topography contours, representing the elevations of the outdoors. Inspiring exploration and adventure, the design was created in partnership with QM Design, which is led by a 7th generation Islamic craftsman. Partnership project Inspired by the experiences of the Muslim Hikers walking group, the Prayer Mats were created in partnership with Wiggle, adidas TERREX and the walking group’s members. All proceeds go to Wiggle’s charity partners. Until now, those of the Muslim faith often resorted to using jackets or makeshift alternatives for prayer. These newly designed Prayer Mats offer a way for those seeking regular prayer can do so comfortably while enjoying a long hike.
